Cultures and traditions
French Polynesia has many traditions, among which tattooing - tatau - and sewing have a special place.
In Moorea, two artists and tradition bearers are at your disposal, as are their website and pages on social networks.

Born in Tahiti, French Polynesia, Lolo learned at age 23 that the art of tatau was a way of telling stories. He first trained by tattooing his own foot before tattooing others full-time. Since then, he has customized over a hundred tattoos inspired by Polynesian art and culture for individuals from all over the world. Each tattoo is unique and custom-made to tell the story of each of his clients.

After graduating from Parsons The New School in New York with a degree in fashion design, Rava learned the art of tifaifai. In Moorea, French Polynesia, she began hosting tifaifai workshops and creating unique tifaifai designs, even incorporating the art form into custom dresses. She now runs her business from home, collaborating with brands on designs, and continues to create one-of-a-kind tifaifai dresses.
